And God said, “Let the waters swarm with swarms of living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.” So God created the great sea creatures and every living creature that moves, with which the waters swarm, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. In my journey with others to Rwanda in our partnership with Acts4Rwanda, we take a day to go on safari at the Akagera National Park in eastern Rwanda. For many of each group taking part in these trips, it is a first time in Rwanda, or in Africa as a whole, or visiting a different country, or visiting a different continent.
Last year was my first time for all four.
Each year, we take a day away from our time with the Acts4Rwanda Transformation Center. This "day off" allows our team members time to process what they've experienced. With our teams coming from a comparative wealthy society, the stark contrast can take varying emotional tolls on the team. This day also provides a down-day for our extraordinarily hospitable Rwandan partners from feeling the need to host us for so many consecutive days.
